An Early Killing Frost

Last Sunday night we had our very early killing frost and summer crops are officially done till next year. I was unable to get anything transplanted into the hoop house in time ? bummer. I was looking forward to seeing how far I could stretch out the summer crops into winter using those. I’ll have to try next year! If you’re thinking there won’t be anything else to eat that we can grow fresh right here in Tate county, I can assure you there are plenty! I have greens, radishes, onions, beets, carrots, turnips, lettuces, cabbages, cauliflower, broccoli, sweet peas, lentils and more growing outside and I’ll keep growing everything I can all winter long! I still have frozen peas we harvested in summer too. We have goat milk, eggs, chickens for order and beef to fill your freezer. Now that my oven is being fixed, I’ll be back to baking again soon too. I’m still canning and finishing up the last couple batches of homemade REAL lye soaps.
