Great news on the homestead! Both my little baby pups have been delivered to their new homes. Their new families are going to do very well with them. I feel quite confident in their abilities to help these pups develop into the perfect lifetime companions, guard dogs & sweethearts!

Parents on site. Breeding/loving Great Pyrenees since 2006!
Adults are guarding: goats (they do very well with newborn kids. We have births every year. The younger pups learn how to behave by watching the adults), horse, chickens (we hatch out baby chicks all year round), ducks and cats (newborn kittens all the time. No issues with the pups).
I work continuously with all my adults and pups on obedience training and regular worming schedules are kept. All vaccinations are up to the new family to work out with their own veterinarian.
Located 30 mins south of Memphis, in Coldwater MS.
Brushing The Heathens Today
It’s time to brush all my heathens again. All those furry fluff ball Great Pyrenees have gotten themselves knotted up with weeds and clumps of hair.
If you know how this works with Great Pyres, like my page. If you REALLY feel my pain, come volunteer to help me brush them all out. Lol

Victory!
We effectively reached a level of training victory yesterday. All of my oldest female pups (born Dec 2017) are responding instantaneously, on a verbal STOP command from far away. I no longer need to be within close proximity to administer corrective commands.
They started barking an “intruder alarm” at the Guinea hen who ventured out of her normal penned area. My adults and older pups of course already know that the guinea is allowed to roam freely so they paid her no attention. The younger pups, unaware of this privilege, began charging the Guinea in their effort to patrol and control their grounds.
I immediately yelled a firm “NO” from roughly 150’ away. At which time they all instantaneously stopped their pursuit and looked at me to be sure they were in fact, being scolded.
With me maintaining complete eye contact and alert body posturing, they recognized this as an affirmative scolding. They immediately changed their direction and resumed playing together harmlessly. Guinea unscathed and the pups now understand that she has freedom to roam.
A well behaved and highly responsive Livestock Guard Dog on your working farm is nothing short of an absolute treasure. 💕
Learned Something New
I learned something new today. Apparently my pups enjoy crunching on Mississippi Mud Bugs. I tried them for the first time the other day and thought my chickens would like to pick the carcasses clean. The pups rushed to the piles and dove in! Lol
Potting Soil Playground
Making homemade potting soil today.
I just love playing in animal poo! Lol! In the pot it goes so I can cook it up!
