Garden Planning

Starting my garden planner for this year. Each green rectangle is a walk/work path where grass will be allowed to grow and be kept mowed. I’ll kneel, sit and stand in this space to work each planting area from its respective sides. Space enough to pack around square bales of straw, garden tools, wheel barrow, etc etc

The first thing to plant in my area is sweet peas. That first block to the furthest right will house roughly 500 pea plants. Each consecutive block should house the same.

I need to double check this plot measurement before I can finish the planning of this section, but I think my estimation is close.

Yesterday I started cultivating the first planting row with my wheel hoe. Got all the weeds out, now to cultivate once more to make a fine tilth.

I’m carefully creating tiny earth berms along each growing area to retain more rain water through the year as I’ll not be able to water until a well is put in.

Herbs Haul!

Nothing beats that fresh flavor of organic, non-irradiated culinary herbs. Some cuttings of oregano, basil, sage and rosemary.

Herbs are grown organically in rich, aged compost, that’s been allowed to break down from the barnyard. There are never any herbicides or pesticides applied to them.

I gather the cuttings early in the morning at their peak of freshness using very sharp scissors. The tender herbs are handled delicately so as not to bruise the leaves.

I clean them by hand, sort into bundles and keep refrigerated for optimum freshness, scent, flavor and health giving properties.

First zucchinis of the year!


All vegetables will be $2 a pound flat rate, prices rounded to the nearest quarter. (I’d rather keep the math simple if it’s all the same to you 😉)
Remember everything grown here is 100% organic and NON-GMO! I do not spray chemicals for bugs or weeds. I do not use any GMO seed or plants.
I should start to have small amounts of veggies trickling in for sale starting next week.

Don’t forget to grab some fresh eggs from pastured chickens and a quart of raw delicious tasting milk.
