These are collected everyday from my fat and sassy, happy and healthy hens. They cluck proudly after each one they lay. I’m sure they are having the most interesting debates amongst themselves- who’s egg is biggest, who’s is the healthiest, who’s is the freshest!
We are what we eat folks, so feed yourself well and eat only clean, pure, wholesome foods!
What do my hens eat? I’m glad you asked, and I’ll gladly share the details with you.
I do my best to provide unlimited amounts of green forage, insects and tiny critters (frogs and snakes) for my chickens browsing pleasure. They have access to 15 acres of woods and pasture to roam. Pecking and scratching to their hearts content.
I put out cracked NON GMO, organically raised corn from my fields for them. They get milo from my crop last year. From this years crop I now have sunflower seeds and millet to feed them. I will be planting wheat soon so I can add that to their ration when I harvest next year.
All these feed items are grown on my land. No chemicals are sprayed on them. I start with heirloom, NEVER GMO seeds and raise them with tender loving care. All fertilizers and pest control are natural and organic. I never use herbicides of any kind.
If you are accustomed to these kinds of eggs you will be happy to get mine and if you’ve never had these kind of eggs- once you try them, you’ll never want to eat store bought again!
*Please note* I am not approved to sell my eggs at the Senatobia farmers market. I can arrange pick up/drop off with you. Text or call me to my phone to order your lovely eggs!
Planting Progress Praise Report!
Happy to report that my late August planting of green beans are ready to pick! I was told I couldn’t get a harvest off them when planted so late. So much for that! Lol
I just put up 40 pounds of purple hull peas for my freezer! I’ll be drying the rest for the winter supply.
I have young tomato plants started in August blooming now.
Cabbages are up about 4”. Yellow squash up 3”. Turnips up about 6”. Bunch of seedlings coming up! Woohooo more beds getting worked up and seeds going in every week.
Don’t forget I have eggs every week.
I’m getting a calf pen and shelter ready this week to bring in beef and dairy calves this month.

Taking Deposits/Trades now: Great Pyrenees Livestock Guard Dog Pups!
GREAT PYRENEES LIVESTOCK GUARD DOG PUPS!!! Taking deposits and trade considerations for litter due….. Momma came out of heat 3 days ago. Mark your calendars for the expected date for new pups to be born!
These pups when at the appropriate age, will protect your livestock from predation including coyotes, fox, other dogs, cats, snakes, raccoon, etc etc. They discourage thieves and trespassers on your property. Guard children and provide years of companionship for the sick, handicapped and elderly.
They require a 6′ fence and THEY REQUIRE A JOB TO DO EVERYDAY. They do not make good pets to sit in the house all day and go for jogs at the park with you. Apartment and suburban dwellers please find a different breed, PYRES WILL NOT WORK FOR YOU.
New owner consultation provided free before purchase of pup. New owner training also available.
Pups will be sold for $500 cash, each at 8 weeks old. Each month I keep them longer, the price goes up as does their level of training and ability. $100 deposit holds your pup. I do worm meticulously but any and all shots for the pup will need to be handled by you and your vet.
All of us at Oasis Homestead are eagerly awaiting their arrival…..
Located in Senatobia/Coldwater MS area. I will travel up to 2 hours one way for appropriate trade deal.
Tour previous posts on my page for pictures, videos, stories and customer reviews.

Trade considerations:
I accept some dairy nanny goat trades (must be dehorned, not more the 25% meat breed mixed in, already bred and/or currently giving milk), beef calves, a Jersey heifer (must be dehorned, tame to hand milking, gentle, obedient and 4 fully usable quarters with health papers) and also would consider bird trades:
I will accept laying age hens of any breed but I only value them at $10 each unless they are pure bred buff orpingtons – which would be $15 each. I will accept Muscovy ducks, guinea fowl (must be at least 1 mated pair) or Toulouse geese (must be at least 1 mated pair).
Not ready to take sheep or pigs yet.
NO HORSES NO RABBITS NO CATS NO DONKEYS NO MULES NO DOGS
If the trade animal won’t fit in the back of my pick up truck bed, you will need to deliver.
Goat Introductions
Thought y’all might enjoy a pic of my lovely little dairy goats and their Billy.

I’m spending more and more 1:1 time with them to get them more and more used to being handled before milking time comes next year. Keep your fingers crossed for lots of healthy kids to be born early next spring!

Oasis Homestead LGD Updates: Doing Well!
The Oasis Homestead LGD family is doing fantastic since the move. They seem to really love their new enclosure. My momma and poppa dogs are even willingly staying inside it. This is a major feat and to me it means they feel completely content inside there.
I am pleased to report all the dogs were amazingly attentive, yet respectful during the birth of my first baby goat at the new place. Genius was especially concerned that nobody gets too close to momma goat and baby for the first few days. Momma dog (Naucelle), with her usual calming manner, encouraged baby goat to come play out from underneath the cedar tree where it was hiding.
Baby goat is quite confident now. Playing, bouncing, climbing and romping as only kid goats can do! He stands directly on billy and leaps over chickens, climbs inside the feeder and rolls around over tuffs of spilled hay. He’s quite happy!
The other nanny goats are due to kid soon and judging by their giant bellies, should deliver twins each. I feel completely confident that all my dogs will behave beautifully during kidding time. It is such a relief to know my LGD’s are protecting all my animals.
First Newborn On The Homestead
The kid is white with a black head. Born last night to my Saanan nanny goat. Here’s hoping it’s a girl and survives!
